Announcing New Training Format for Partners and Customers at Acumatica Summit 2019

Acumatica customers and partners can look forward to Acumatica Summit 2019 continuing it’s yearly trend of supplying a full slate of comprehensive cloud ERP training. However, there is an update: we have a new training format. Don’t worry, we think you’ll like it.

At Acumatica, they are constantly improving their cloud ERP software. This is because they want to provide customers who use it and partners who sell it with the very best cloud ERP solution possible. They also strive to make the annual Summit better every year. And a major part of their  improvement efforts stem from the feedback that they receive from you, their customers and partners. After last year’s annual Summit, you said the training track sessions (which you considered extremely insightful) and the training track format could be made even better to meet the needs of certain members of the Acumatica community. They listened, and  made some updates. The new training format will be introduced at Acumatica Summit 2019, coming January 27-February 1, 2019 in Houston, Texas.

Acumatica Cloud ERP Best of Summit Anaheim wrap-up

On April 26, 2018 we had the chance to spend some time with the leaders of Acumatica Cloud ERP at their Best of Summit Anaheim event.

This was an Acumatica Customer, Partner and Potential Customer event. We learned about the new features and enhancement to the new Acumatica 2018 R1 version, heard from customers that had very interesting stories of coming off very old systems and implementing Acumatica Cloud ERP. Some very long-term customers and some just recently making the decision to move forward.

Acumatica Cloud ERP now has over 4,000 customers and is continuing to gain much momentum in the ERP space. We look forward to hearing more and please stay tuned. The upcoming 2019 Acumatica Summit will be in Houston Jan 27th though Feb 1st at the Houston Marriott Marquis.

It is November.. Time to Analyze

It’s November, and it means the official start of the busy holiday season. In fact, many retailers depend on holiday shopping as a very large percentage of their main revenue for the year.

This is the time corporations are evaluating revenue projections versus actuals, expenditure budgets, and taxes.

Holiday_3The tool for producing the financial reports needed for evaluations is your business management software, also known as ERP.  Your ERP has diligently recorded every invoice, cash receipt, inventory purchases, vendor invoices and more. Maybe it is time to examine the actual tool itself, and compare its capabilities to what else is out there.

Here’s an easy way to determine your ERP’s, technological generation gap factor. Divide its age by 1.5 (18 months is considered a generation.) For example, if you have not upgraded your system since 2000, you are 10.6 generations behind. To put things into perspective, the first iPhone was introduced in 2007!

How to Access Rights by Role and Screen for Acumatica Cloud ERP

Setting up access by Role simplifies the addition of new users, by associating the account with a Role.

Example: Setting up a new Role: Accounting Clerk with access to Accounts receivable and General Ledger

Add a new Role by going to Configuration>User Roles>Add a Role

Then, go to:

Configuration >User Security>Access Rights by Role

Pick the Suite that you wish to set:

Revoking an Application will remove the entry from the user’s menu. Granting will allow further drill down.

Example: The Accounting Clerk Role was Granted access to Accounts Receivable. Drilling down to the Work Area, Processes, Reports, and Configuration it is possible to control access down to a process itself.

Setting up access by screen:

Select the process. You can control access to a user’s role at the process level

Default Access Right of a screen is “Inherited” It can be changed to “Revoked”, “Edit”, “View Only”

WAC Makes a Difference – ROTARY PRYDE 2016

WAC Makes a Difference
Last month Mike Renner of WAC Solution Partners – Greater Los Angeles Area attended a two day leadership conference for outstanding youth called Rotary PRYDE (Personal Rotary Youth Development Experience).  Mike was so inspired that he decided to volunteer again this
year.
This two day retreat, sponsored by Rotary District 5330, helps 7th graders learn about leadership through activities that focus on leading one’s self as a step towards leading others.  The students are taught the principles of leadership, teamwork, winning and failure, and the basics of becoming successful in life.  During the retreat Mike was a Tribal Elder and Discussion Leader for a group of exceptional boys and girls.  Mike noted that this program was “an incredible life changing event for everyone that attended,” and he will definitely be participating next year.
